I spend my fair share of time in the north woods of Minnesota in the fall hunting grouse and woodcock. I also find myself walking grasslands and edges of the cornfields in the south of my beautiful northern state trying to flush a big rooster or two, i like to upland hunt, but i LOVE old side by side shotguns, being left handed i could never find a gun that had a safety that worked easy for me, then one day i was looking at the used gun rack at a local sporting goods store and i found a cheap old over under 12 gauge, the safety located right at my thumb wow finally this makes sense. any ways that led to the purchase of my first double gun from the used rack at the same shop, it was a 28 gauge stoeger side by side it felt like the lightest most perfect gun i had ever picked up (it probably was compared to that big old 12ga i had been lugging around) i shot that 28 gauge for a couple seasons and fell quite a few birds with it, that cheap 28gauge gun is what got me hooked on doubles. i sold that 28ga years ago and wouldn't buy it back for a dollar but it did start me onto a path to learning quite a bit about side by sides. I've owned and shot quite a few good doubles, i currently own 3 fox sterlingworths 12ga, 16ga, 20ga.. my 20ga sterlingworth has been my go to gun for the last few years, i adore it. 26" barrels all original everthing its 100 years old and  it shows its age but it points and shoots like a dream. ive owned old ithicas, remington 1900s, parkers, a few guild guns just to name a few, i spend alot of time reading about old side by sides and even more time scouring the local gun shops and interweb trying to find good affordable guns, i will be posting various guns that i like on here hopefully some good deals to be had for all...
